Hudson district wants to build at dog track sit, but city plan commission opposes the proposal

From The St. Paul Pioneer Press: The Hudson (Wis.) school district is asking the Hudson city council to postpone a decision on the rezoning of the St. Croix Meadows Greyhound Racing Park. The school district is asking the city council to rezone the property from commercial to public use, which would enable the district to buy the property. The district wants to build a secondary school on the site, and voters have approved spending $8.25 million to buy the land. But the Hudson plan commission has recommended that the city council reject the rezoning request, citing the loss of tax revenue as the main reason.
