Healthy School Awards in Florida

The Orange County and Santa Rosa County school systems are the latest districts to be recognized as Florida Healthy School Districts. Each of the districts has received a Silver Award from the Florida Coordinated School Health Partnership (CSHP) and Florida Action for Healthy Kids. The districts received the designation for two years, from July 2011 through June 2013.

Orange County was cited for its Health Services, Employee Wellness, and Family and Community Environment programs; Santa Rosa was cited for its Health Services, Nutrition Education, Health Education and Healthy School Environment programs.

Eighteen districts in the state have been recognized in the program at either the silver or bronze level, according to the Florida Department of Education.
