Former prosecutor will oversee school construction in New Jersey

A federal prosecutor has been appointed to lead the New Jersey Schools Development Authority.

Marc Larkins, an assistant U.S. Attorney in New Jersey, was chosen to be executive director of the Authority by newly elected Gov. Chris Christie. Larkins worked for Christie when the governor was U.S. Attorney.

Larkins will oversee the state agency that allocates funding for school construction projects. Legislation established the authority in 2007 to replace the New Jersey Schools Construction Corporation, which was plagued by cost overruns and allegations of waste and fraud.
