Six students in Texas rescued from school bus trapped in high water

Heavy rains around Denton, Texas, resulted in flooding Tuesday morning.

Six students on a school bus and its driver had to be rescued in Denton, Texas, Tuesday morning when the vehicle became stuck in high water.

NBCDFW.com reports that emergency responders were able to carry the children to a nearby boat that was connected to a truck and take them to safety.

The Denton Independent School District bus became stuck in floodwaters that rose after the area received heavy rain overnight.

After being brought to safety, the students were taken to Hodge Elementary School.

No injuries were reported.
