49 countries take part in first-ever Green Apple Day of Service

Thousands take part in global initiative to to support healthful, sustainable schools

Green Apple, an initiative spearheaded by the U.S. Green Building Council to support healthful and sustainable schools, reports that 1,256 events, service projects or commitments were carried out on Sept. 29 as part of the first-ever Green Apple Day of Service. Projects took place in all 50 states and in 49 countries.
