Babson College to install wind turbine on campus

Apr 16, 2008 4:21 PM

Babson College in Wellesley, Mass., is installing a wind turbine on campus that will produce enough energy to supply about 60 percent of the annual energy needs at the college's entrepreneurship gallery. The college says it is the first higher-education institution in the Boston area first college to have an on-campus wind power installation. The turbine installation one of many green initiatives put in place by Babson’s Facilities Management and Planning Office. They include multiple rechargeable electric vehicles purchased for campus transportation; solar lighting installed on upper field walks and a "dark dorm" competition to encourage energy conservation in residence hall.
