Wisconsin district plans green-themed charter schoolFeb 18, 2009 2:46 PM
The School District of Black River Falls (Wis.) is planning to open a green-themed charter school for 2009-10. Dubbed BRAGS, for Black River Area Green School, it is scheduled to open with 20 to 25 students in 11th or 12th grade. The district's outdoor education center will provide a home for the school, which will offer an environmentally focused, hands-on education. Students will complete individual projects in four areas: horticulture/organic farming; forestry, fisheries and wildlife; eco-friendly, sustainable lifestyles; and green building and design.
