Dental facility at East Carolina University aims for green status

East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C., is seeking
silver LEED certification for the 112,500-square-foot dental school
facility it is planning. If it qualifies, the dental school will be the
first LEED-certified structure at ECU. The site has a north-south
orientation, increasing the amount of daylight that will reach the
facility's interior.The building is
expected to cost $87 million. Construction is scheduled to begin in
mid-2009, and the facility will open in mid-2011.The architects are BJAC and Bohlin
Cywinski Jackson.
