Green addition to Iowa State University

Iowa State University in Ames will construct a $6.25 million addition to its College of Design building. University officials want the new space to become a venue for teaching design students interested in sustainable design. The university hopes the addition will receive platinum LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Planned sustainable features include a green roof and natural ventilation.
