Residence hall at Champlain College expects to get LEED gold rating

News release: Juniper Hall, a four-story, 95-bed residence hall, opened earlier this year on the campus of Champlain College in Burlington, Vt. The project was designed with a goal of receiving LEED gold certification for its environmentally friendly elements. The The $7.7 million, 29,200-square-foot, building has a shared full-kitchen, a natural stone fireplace, wood floors, bike storage, a ski-tuning workshop, and views of Lake Champlain. Juniper is the first of three new residence halls being built in the southwest quadrant of the campus. In the middle of the new residence halls will be an outdoor amphitheater to give students more places to study and socialize. The builder is PC Construction.
