University of Montana works on green design and construction standards

construction standards for campus buildings called "Griz Green" that
will be comparable to the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED
guidelines. In building an addition to its law school, the university
is incorporating several sustainable design elements--geothermal
cooling, energy-efficient lighting upgrades and construction waste
recycling. Facilities managers say the proposed Griz Green standards
will make campus buildings a better long-term investment.
