Geothermal system for Massachusetts school

Noble and Greenough School, a private boarding school in Dedham, Mass., is using geothermal energy to provide heat and air conditioning for its middle school building. The system cost more than a conventional setup, but by saving the school $17,000 a year in operating costs, it will make up the additional expenses in six years. School officials say the geothermal system coincides with the school's efforts to consider the environment in the way it runs its campus and its classrooms.
