Ohio adopts LEED rating system as standard

The Ohio School Facilities Commission (OSFC) has adopted the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED for Schools Rating System as part of its school design standards. The commission says that with $4.1 billion targeted for school facilities, at least 250 buildings will be registering for LEED Silver Certification within the next two years. The green schools initiative encourages all future OSFC-funded buildings to meet LEED for Schools Gold certification. There is a minimum requirement to meet LEED Silver certification.
