Ohio adopts LEED rating system as standard
Oct 10, 2007 4:51 PM
The Ohio School Facilities Commission (OSFC) has adopted the U.S. Green Building
Council's LEED for Schools Rating System as part of its school design standards.
The commission says that with $4.1 billion targeted for school facilities, at
least 250 buildings will be registering for LEED Silver Certification within the
next two years. The green schools initiative encourages all future OSFC-funded
buildings to meet LEED for Schools Gold certification. There is a minimum
requirement to meet LEED Silver certification.
