University of Utah converts shuttle buses to bio-diesel fuel

The University of Utah in Salt LakeCity has converted most of the shuttle buses on campus to run on bio-diesel fuel. The school is switching from cleaner burning natural gas to bio-diesel because natural gas engines have proven unreliable and are expensive to maintain and repair. Most shuttles have been running on a B-20 grade of bio-diesel fuel--a less polluting upgrade than the previous B-5 mixture. The new grade is a mix of 80 percent diesel fuel and 20 percent vegetable oil.
