Meet the Jury

Meet this year's Educational Interiors Showcase jury.

The 2010 Educational Interiors Showcase jury: Loiselle, Robicsek and Hill.

David M. Hill, AICP, REFP: Executive Director of Facilities and Operations, Blue Valley School District, Overland Park, Kan.

Dave is the executive director of facilities and operations for the Blue Valley School District (21,000 students). In addition to his other duties, he is responsible for coordinating educational facilities planning, design and construction, land acquisition, demographics, school boundaries and enrollment forecasting in a rapidly growing district. Since 1991, Dave’s team has managed more than $700 million in capital improvements, including 10 elementary schools, six middle schools, three high schools, and numerous additions and renovations. He has published articles in professional journals and presented on educational facility planning at local, regional and national conferences. He is a member of the Council of Educational Facility Planners International (CEFPI) and the American Planning Association (APA). Dave earned degrees in architecture and urban planning from Iowa State University, Ames.

Helene Loiselle: Assistant Vice President, Facilities, Valencia Community College, Orlando, Fla.

Helene has a bachelor of civil engineering from Ecole Polytechnique, Montreal, Quebec, and an MBA from McGill University, Montreal. She has worked in project and program management for the private sector and the public sector for most of her career. She started working in the educational sector in Texas in 1999. She has been with Valencia Community College for the last seven years.

Robert C. Robicsek, AIA, NCARB: Principal, Education Studio Leader for the Chicago Office, Harley Ellis Devereux

Bob joined Harley Ellis Devereaux in 1981 and has been with the firm 29 years. He is the education studio leader for the firm’s Chicago office. The firm’s national Education Studio incorporates a vibrant blend of public and private K-12 projects, and an established national higher-education practice component. His expertise includes science and research facility projects, education facilities, student learning and service facilities, and large-scope historic preservation and adaptive-reuse projects. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. Architecture degree and attained his master’s in architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. He is active in civic and professional organizations including the American Institute of Architects (AIA), U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), Society for College and University Planning (SCUP), APPA and the Illinois Association of School Business Officials (IASBO). He also is a member of the Chicago Chapter AIA Education Committee.
