Football stadium for Benedictine University, Lisle, Ill.

A 3,000-seat Division III football stadium is the first priority for Benedictine University, Lisle, Ill., as the design process begins on a new multipurpose sports complex.

In addition to the lighted football stadium, the facility features a nine-lane, Olympic-size track to attract nationally televised meets, a collegiate women's softball field and a 750- to 1,000-seat baseball field that could support a Midwest Wood Bat Baseball League. The complex also will contain a concession area, press boxes, meeting rooms and suites, locker rooms and changing rooms for officials. The football stadium is scheduled for completion in September 2004.

The complex is intended to be a joint-use facility with the Village of Lisle and is being funded through an increased motel/hotel tax.

The architect for this project is DLR Group (Chicago/Overland Park, Kan.).
