Brett Bostian
Director of Facilities and Operations, Corpus Christi Independent School District, Corpus Christi, Texas
Brett joined Corpus Christi Independent School District (CCISD) as director of facilities and operations in 2002. CCISD is an urban K-12 district consisting of 61 campuses on the Texas gulf coast. The district has opened three new elementary schools and renovated one campus in the past four years.
Additionally, Brett has 20 years experience in school facilities management and previous experience in residential and high-rise construction. He has done facilities program development and support for K-12 and higher-education facilities with an international management-services company in the Midwest, Texas and surrounding states.
Jeanne Jackson, AIA, LEED
Partner, VCBO Architecture, Salt Lake City
For the past 17 years, Jeanne has specialized in the design of education facilities, specifically concentrating on the factors that create a stimulating and exciting environment for education. She has been a licensed architect since 1993 and chairs the Utah State Architectural Licensing Board.
She has a Master's of Architecture degree from the University of Utah and is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Committee on Architecture for Education and the Council of Educational Facility Planners, International (CEFPI). Jeanne's projects have won multiple national, regional and local design awards.
Peter C. Lippman, Associate AIA
Senior Staff Member, Educational Practice Group, JCJ Architecture, New York City
Peter has experience in all phases of architecture, from programming to construction administration. He has worked on a variety of education projects in New York, including primary and secondary schools for the New York State Education Department, as well as higher-education facilities for the State University of New York and the City University of New York.
From 2001 to 2004, Peter served as chair for the AIANY Chapter Committee on Architecture for Education. Currently, he is an adjunct lecturer at the School of Architecture, Urban Design, and Landscape Architecture of the City College of the City University of New York, where he has developed student projects that encourage research on the design of education environments that promote learning and knowledge.
L. Ray Switzer
Director of Facilities, Spartanburg Community College, Spartanburg, S.C.
Ray has 30 years of experience in new site design, development, construction management, and expansion and renovation of existing facilities. As director of facilities at Spartanburg Community College, Ray has responsibility for campus master planning, new construction management, renovation and maintenance of facilities and grounds, campus safety and security, fleet management, and other support functions such as budget management.
Ray has a Master's of Business Administration degree from Strayer University, Greenville, S.C., a Bachelor of Engineering Technology degree from Southern Polytechnic State University, Marietta, Ga., and an Associate of Engineering Technology degree from Spartanburg Community College.
Terry Taylor
Director of Operations and Maintenance, Gresham-Barlow School District, Gresham, Ore.
Terry has spent more than 25 years as an educational facility management professional. Throughout his career, he has worked with Applied Computer Technologies (ACT); Washington State University, Pullman; Northshore School District, Bothell, Wash.; and the Gresham-Barlow School District, Gresham, Ore.
Terry has helped numerous school districts and colleges across the nation and Australia identify their strengths and areas for improvement. He has worked with industry leaders to design efficient, high-performing educational facilities and has helped school districts with utility management. He continues to assist M&O departments with pilot projects such as team cleaning and is involved with the development of construction standards in schools.
