New high school to be dedicated in Spring Valley, Ill.

$34 million Hall High School replaces a 100-year-old facility

Officials will hold a ribbon-cutting dedication ceremony later this month to commemorate the opening of the new Hall High School in Spring Valley, Ill.

The $32 million, 134,000-square-foot campus opened in September. replaces a 100-year-old facility, the Illinois Real Estate Journal reports. Hall High is a three-story school with a main academic building, athletic complex and performing arts center.

The new academic center includes science, technology, engineering and math classrooms, along with a learning resource center and administrative offices. The athletic complex consists of two gymnasiums, a weight training and fitness room, locker rooms, and a concession area.

The performing arts center has a stage with a high-end sound and recording system, art and food labs, kiln room, as well as a set design area and cafeteria with a kitchen. Sustainable design features include permeable pavers, bioswales for storm water management, daylight harvesting and occupancy sensors.

The dedication is scheduled for Oct. 17.

The builder is Leopardo Companies, and the architect is Healy, Bender & Associates.
