Suite Life at the University of Nevada

Jan. 1, 2014
The new Cooper Court Residence Hall at the University of Nevada, Reno.

The new Cooper Court Residence Hall at the University of Nevada, Reno, will address the university’s housing needs for a growing student population. The $31 million project, which will break ground this year, consists of the demolition of several buildings and the construction of a 117,000-square-foot, six-story steel and concrete residence hall.

The hall, situated within the campus’ residence hall “district,” addresses the university’s housing needs for an expanding student population. The sustainably designed hall will include suite-style housing and common lounge areas for 400 students.

Cooper Court Residence Hall will complement the rest of the university’s campus architecture, and will feature a brick veneer and state-of-the-art building systems. It is designed to achieve LEED gold certification.

The hall was designed by Collaborative Design Studio (Reno, Nev.), and Sundt Construction, Inc. (Sacramento, Calif.) is construction manager at risk.
