Student shot to death in parking lot of Gary, Ind., high school

Police have taken a former student into custody in the fatal shooting of a 10th grader.

A former student walked up to a 10th-grader this morning in a Gary, Ind., high school parking lot and shot him in the head, killing him. The 17-year-old suspected gunman was taken into custody. The shooting happened at 8:15 a.m. outside Lew Wallace High School, before school started.
