Texas district halts construction at high school after second worker dies at job site (with Video)

Argyle board stops work on high school activity center after second fatal accident.

After two fatal accidents in less than a week at a high school construction project, the Argyle (Texas) School Board has voted to halt the work.

WFAA-TV reports that the board called an emergency meeting just hours after Daniel Moran, 22, was killed at the Argyle High School construction site after getting caught in the wheels of a semi-trailer truck driven by his father.

The Morans were at the worksite to remove equipment that had been brought in to clean up a construction accident that killed another worker last week. That worker was fatally injured when the framing for the school's new practice facility collapsed.

Board members asked representatives from Northstar Builders, the primary contractor on the project, if they would agree to stop construction of the activity center at Argyle High until an outside safety consultant could review the situation. The company agreed, and board members decided to halt the project.
