Electronic Lock and Key Catalog

Videx, Inc.

A new catalog has information on CyberLock electronic locks and intelligent padlocks. The free catalog includes an instructive CD on electronic lock and key technology. CyberLock brings electronic access control and auditing to mechanical lock hardware simply by removing a lock's cylinder and replacing it with a CyberLock electronic cylinder.

Automatic Door Operator

NORTON Door Controls

An enhanced version of the 5700 Series LEO low-energy automatic door operator now is available. The device features a low-energy electric motor that, when activated by a switch or motion sensor, provides a power assist to slowly open the door. A mechanical closer then takes over and returns the door to the closed position. A new inverter, door position ring and built-in level have been added to the 5700 Series to improve functionality and simplify installation.

The Evac+Chair, an emergency evacuation chair, helps those needing assistance descend the stairs in an emergency. The chair's unique construction makes it easy for someone to assist a disabled colleague to safety, and enables first responders and other building occupants to pass by without interference. The chair is engineered to move smoothly using a patented continuous rotating V belt that ensures safety and enables a user to control the chair's descent down the stairs with relative ease, regardless of the passenger's size.

Plug-in Wireless Network Module

Secura Key

A new Wireless Network Module enables Secura Key's SK-ACP 2-door access control panel to connect easily to a local area network to monitor and control an access-control system. This module replaces expensive outboard network adapters, eliminating the requirement for an additional enclosure, cabling and a power supply. The key advantage of the wireless module is that it enables network access in locations where there is no pre-existing Ethernet cable, thus providing solutions for challenging installations.

Multihousing Access-Control System

The RezShield multihousing access-control system, which uses contactless radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology, offers benefits to students as well as residence-hall managers. A resident simply presents a modern credential, such as a fob, wristband or keycard, to the contactless lock to gain access to his or her room or common/activity areas. For managers, the lock stores audit trails and lock-use history, tracks staff credentials, and monitors staff and resident activity.
