From Fiscal 2011 to 2013, public schools in the United States spent an average of $1,038 per student on daily maintenance and operations, according to figures compiled in the 2016 State of Our Schools report from the 21st Century Fund, the National Council on School Facilities and the Center for Green Schools.

Spending ranged from a low of $614 per student in Utah to a high of $2,096 per student in Alaska.
