States with the largest average salaries for classroom teachers, 2012-13

The latest edition of the National Education Association's Rankings & Estimates, released in December 2012, estimates the average salaries for public school classroom teachers in every state and Washington, D.C.  Nationwide, the average salary for 2012-13 was estimated to be $56,383. Here are the nine states (and Washington, D.C.) that have the largest average salaries.
