Enrollment in public elementary and secondary schools is projected to grow by 5.2 percent from fall 2011 to fall 2023, according to the National Center for Education Statistics' Digest of Education Statistics 2013.
Above-average growth is expected in the West (10.2 percent) and South (8.4 percent); student numbers are project to decline in the Northeast (-2 percent) and the Midwest (-0.6 percent).
