Mercer University found an interesting way to deal with its rain drainage problems. The school, located in Macon, Ga., is building a new fountain and rain garden as a way to drain excess water from part of its campus.
“Basically, it’s replacing a ditch,” Larry Brumley, Mercer’s senior vice president for marketing and communications, told the Telegraph. “It’s going to filter water runoff in a more environmentally friendly way, while at the same time give students an aesthetically pleasing gathering place, especially during games.”
