A rebuilt high school and a new elementary school will welcome about 3,000 students next month in the Cobb County (Ga.) district. The Marietta Daily Journal says the $21.1 million rebuild of Wheeler High School in Marietta and the $19.5 million construction of Smyrna Elementary School in Smyrna are near completion. The Wheeler project entailed demolishing the existing facility, built in 1964, and erecting a two-story, 143,181-square-foot school. The 153,000-square-foot Smryna Elementary cost about $20 million; it is a 61-classroom, two-story building on an 18-acre lot.
