From the 2021 Educational Interiors Showcase: Florida State University, Earth Ocean Atmospheric Science Building

In 2013, Florida State University (FSU) combined the departments of geology, oceanography, and meteorology into one department--the Earth Ocean Atmospheric Science Department. FSU sought to create a dynamic building to serve as home base for collaborative teaching and research. The architects were charged with developing academic space, teaching labs, and research labs aimed at attracting new students and developing new science with “collision-inspired” interactions.
