From the 2021 Architectural Portfolio: University of Massachusetts Lowell-Coburn Hall
Feb. 17, 2022
University of Massachusetts Lowell – Coburn Hall was recognized in the renovation/modernization category in American School & University's 2021 Architectural Portfolio.
One of the earliest buildings on UMass Lowell’s campus, Coburn Hall has been a prominent school landmark since its construction in 1897. Having served a central role in the history and physical landscape of the university, this aging structure needed to be restored to better and higher use. A comprehensive renovation of the existing building combined with construction of a contemporary expansion, the building houses the university’s College of Education and Psychology Department.
