The project was recognized as an outstanding design in the Adaptive Reuse category.
Construction Career Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is a workforce development facility jointly developed by The Associated General Contractors and the Tennessee College of Applied Technology/Chattanooga State Community College. The center is an adaptive reuse of an old elementary school and has four labs, each connected to a classroom. Each lab focuses on different trades and aspects of construction with one “high bay” and outdoor bay. The building is designed to have Earthcraft Light Commercial Platinum Certification and to be carbon net zero.
