Over 200 students disenrolled at University of Virginia for failing to get Covid vaccination
The University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va., has cut 238 students from its rolls after they failed to comply with the university's vaccination requirement.
ABC News reports that university officials announced in May that students attending in the fall would have to receive the a Covid vaccination or or request a medical or religious exemption. The deadline for compliance was July 1.
Since the original notification of the requirements, the university has sent multiple reminders about the policy to prospective students.
Students who had not met the requirements received multiple communications after the deadline in the form of emails, texts, and phone calls.
The university has given the students until Aug. 25 to comply or they won't be allowed to attend classes in the fall.
