After 113 years, Catholic school will close in St. Paul

St. Bernard's Grade School has only 137 students
March 24, 2009

From The St. Paul Pioneer Press: St. Bernard's Grade School, a fixture in the North End of St. Paul, Minn., since 1891, will close at the end of the school year, the archdiocese announced. It serves about 137 students from pre-kindergarten to grade eight. St. Bernard's High School will remain open. The announcement comes a week after notice was given that two other Catholic elementary/middle schools — Trinity on the East Side of St. Paul and St. Elizabeth Seton in Minneapolis — will close after this school year.
