Decision is part of an overhaul of the city's alternative schools.
New York City is planning to shut down its four high schools for pregnant girls as part of a sweeping reorganization of its alternative schools. The schools have been marked by abysmal test scores, poor attendance and inadequate facilities. District officials say that next year, they would like pregnant girls to remain in their regular high schools or switch to small specialized high schools designed for struggling students.
