From The Sioux Falls Argus Reader: The Sioux Falls (S.D.) School Board has approved final plans for a Career and Technical Education Academy. Set to open in fall 2010, the academy will offer several nontraditional programs such as auto body repair and welding. Those programs now are scattered throughout the city's high schools. Officials say 150 students were unable to enroll in career and technical classes this year because there was no room. The academy will change that with a capacity to hold 960 students each day. Sioux Falls students will occupy about 80 percent of the classroom space; students from neighboring districts will use the rest of the space. The architect is Architecture, Inc.
