Savings from four-day week are minimal, study says
Policy brief: Converting to a four-day work week would produce a maximum savings of 5.43 percent in the average school district, according to the Education Commission of the States. The commission found that school systems would save in the areas of operations and maintenance, administration, student support, transportation and food. However, in the area of instruction, which makes up 60 percent of the typical school district budget, the maximum savings from a four-day week would be 0.03 percent, the commission found.
