Illinois district seeks bonds for high school construction

McHenry district has $70 million plan to replace existing campus
Aug. 26, 2010

From The Northwest Herald: McHenry (Ill.) High School District 156 has decided to stick with its plans to hold a $70 million bond election in November. The money would enable the district to build a high school for 1,600 to 1,700 students that would replace the existing East Campus. The board is seeking approval for the bonds now so it can take advantage of Build America Bonds, which are subsidized by the federal government. There is no guarantee that those bonds will be available after Dec. 31.
