Funding is not on the horizon for such a project
TheUniversity of Maine at Augusta will eventually provide student housing, but the college's president, Allyson Hughes Handley, says students should not expect it in the immediate future. Such housing could help revitalize downtown Augusta, but in light of the state's budget woes, Handley says the school may have to temper its involvement in downtown revitalization.
