Money will help pay for new high school in Capital district

FromThe Wilmington News Journal: The Capital (Del.) School District has won approval of a $58.7 million bond proposal that will cover the local share of construction costs for a 1,800-pupil, $114 million replacement for Dover High School.

School District is asking residents to approve a bond issue of a little more than $58.7 million as the local share of a $132.1 million building program -- including $114 million for an 1,800-student replacement for Dover High School. The referendum also seeks about $5.5 million for parking lots, athletic fields and other site improvements for Booker T. Washington Elementary School and Central and William Henry middle schools; $8.4 million for a professional development center/district office, and almost $3.9 million for a maintenance/receiving facility.
