Stadium proposal rejected in Kansas district

Turner district voters say no to $12.5 million proposal.

Voters in the Turner school district in Kansas City, Kan., have rejected a $12.5 million bond request that would have paid for a new sports facility. Officials say building a new facility would be more cost-effective that putting money into the existing stadium. In previous years, the high school football team has been forced to play home state playoff games in another stadium because Turner's did not meet Kansas High School Activities Association regulations.
