Architects have incorporated energy-efficient and environment-friendly design elements into Cox Mill High School, which will be built in Concord, N.C. A retention pond will be built toward the back of the property to prevent storm water from running into the nearby Rocky River. A rainwater-harvesting system will collect water from the roof to irrigate plants in the school’s greenhouse. In the lobby area, translucent panels on the ceiling will reduce the need for electrical lights. The architect is Morris-Berg Architects.
