Teacher is in custody after barricading himself in Bronx classroom

New York City police is allowing students to return to New Millennium Business Academy Middle School

UPDATE from NY1: The New York City Department of Education says that the New Millennium Business Academy Middle School teacher who barricaded himself inside a classroom has been taken into police custody. According to the United Federation of Teachers, Francisco Garabitos, a 30-year teaching veteran, holed himself inside the classroom at around 9 a.m. All students and faculty from M.S. 328 in Morrisania had been evacuated from the building. The building houses three schools.

From The New York Daily News: A New York City middle school teacher has barricaded himself in a Bronx classroom and is threatening to blow up the school as revenge for being disciplined by the principal. No bomb has been found, but police have evacuated the New Millennium Business Academy Middle School near 165th Street in Morrisainia as a precaution as the 55-year-old computer teacher barricaded himself in his classroom. No students are in the classroom, and No injuries have been reported.
