Last Catholic school in Berlin, N.H., will close

Northern New Hampshire will no longer have a Catholic school.

The last Catholic school in Berlin, N.H., will close its doors in June. Declining enrollment over the last decade led to the decision to close St. Michael School, which affects 52 children in pre-school to grade 5, ending an era of parochial schooling in the city that spanned nearly 120 years. Berlin once had seven Catholic schools.
