One new charter approved for Nashville school system

School board rejects four other applications
From The Nashville Tennessean: The Metropolitan Nashville school board members has approved one new charter school, but denied applications for four others. New Vision Academy, a middle school, was approved to open this fall. It will be the sixth charter school in Nashville. Mayor Karl Dean and school officials are making changes to bring more charter schools to Nashville in the coming years. The mayor has announced the creation of the Center for Charter Schools in Tennessee, a $1.5 million incubator designed to find and train new leaders so they can open charter schools.
