Budget cuts force city of Cleveland to pull police from schools

18 officers assigned to schools will be redeployed

From The Cleveland Plain Dealer: The Cleveland Police Department will pull officers from trouble-prone schools to keep more of its shrinking force on the streets. The move was among several announced in response to pending layoffs in the city's safety forces. A federal grant helped pay 18 officers stationed in some Cleveland schools, primarily high schools, but the money ran out last month.
