100 of the district's schools now are without an assigned police officer

From The Philadelphia Inquirer: The Philadelphia School District has eliminated 91 school police jobs; that means the number of city schools without officers will rise to 100. The district faces a $61 million budget hole that must be plugged by June. The police cuts will save $617,000. Twenty-five additional schools are losing their police officers as a result of the move. Of the 10 schools considered "persistently dangerous" under the federal No Child Left Behind law, nine kept their full complement of police officers; one school lost one officer.
