Texas elementary school principal gets ticket because of noise on school grounds

Neighbor complained about sound levels from school's Family Fitness Day
April 15, 2009

From The San Antonio Express-News: A principal at Olympia Elementary School in Universal City, Texas, has been issued a citation for violating the city's noise ordinance after a neighbor complained about the sound level during the school's Family Fitness Day. Officials with the Judson Independent School District and the Universal City Police Department say the district has taken several steps to try to restore relations with the neighbor; a fence has been added at the back of the school, the basketball hoops have special backing to muffle the sound, and outside loudspeakers have been removed. The neighbor says the fence has helped to buffer the sound between the school and his home, but noise is still a problem.
