The Metro Nashville school board has voted to create two new charter schools — Smithson Craighead Middle School, an extension of the elementary school of the same name, and Nashville Global Academy, a K-8 school. After being rejected last month, the schools amended their applications to address some of the district's concerns. Another applicant, Nashville Academy of Science and Technology, was denied.
