FromThe San Antonio Express-News: The politics and distrust that have beleaguered South San Antonio (Texas) Independent School District for much of its history are threatening the latest proposal to improve facilities for students. On May 8, residents will vote on a $58 million bond package that would rebuild much of the district's sole high school and create an Academy of Health Sciences. A similar proposal for $62 million to update South San Antonio High School was defeated in November.
