From The Kansas City Star: The Kansas City (Mo.) school board is trying to decide what to do with all its closed schools. The district already had 15 closed schools before the new wave hit. A couple have sales pending. Others have been on the shopping block for years. Some that have been sold remain empty hulks while developers struggle for financing or haggle with neighborhoods over changed plans. Twenty-one more buildings are being closed, with the district keeping nine or 10 in reserve.

JUNE 3, 2010...from The Kansas City Star: Today, 21 buildings in the Kansas City (Mo.) district will watch students pass through their doors out into summer for the last time. The schools range from 17 to 101 years old, most of them older and tired. They are elementary schools, middle schools and a high school.
